Learning Together

The York Course
 
Faith, Hope and Love. A very interesting and rewarding course for anyone. To find ot when our next session is click on the link above.

The meetings will be in the Church Hall at St Anne's Haverthwaite on the following Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm.

Meditation & Breathing

Learn the techniques of meditation and breathing that help you relax and cope with the stresses of modern life. A meeting will be held in St Anne's Church Haverthwaite on Wednesday's at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm.
 
A fee of £1:00 will be charged which will be used for Youth Projects locally. Those wishing to attend contact David on 31338

Youth and Community Activities

Leven Valley C of E School - Spring Fair

Saturday 16th May, 10.00 am - 2.00 pm. Stalls will include Car Boot, Raffle, Cake Stall, Tombola, Carnival Games and BBQ. The Soap Box Derby Runs Again

Open Garden - Little Orchard in aid of Royal British Legion

The Garden at Little Orchard will be open in aid of the Royal British Legion Backbarrow and District Branch with Crake Valley
 
Sunday 24th May between 2 pm and 5 pm
 
Come and see a Fell side garden with lawned walks, flowering shrubs and trees, Camellias, Rhododendrons, bulbs, Clematis, Perennials etc., includes Stalls, Plants and Tombola.
 
Entry £3.50 which includes a cream tea!

Linsty Green Residents' Association - ANNUAL PLANT SALE

Little Orchard Buffet Lunch

Coffee Evening 7-9 pm, Friday, 1st May in St Anne's Church Hall - admission £1.00
 
Raffle, tombola, cake and white elephant stall. (If you have items to donate, please ring 31802 or 31873 and please come and support this fund raising effort, it may be the last!) This year's outing will be on Tuesday, May 5th to Southport with a meal on the return journey at The Priory Hotel, Scorton.

Gardening Club

We will shortly be starting a Gardening Club at St Anne's Haverthwaite. Those interested should contact David on 31338.
We are currently in the process of researching both equipment and storage and expect things to move quickly towards the end of May.

What's Happening in Finsthwaite?

Finsthwaite Open Gardens - Saturday May 16th and Sunday May 17th

Gardens will be open for viewing from 11am to 5pm.
£4 per person gives entry to all of the gardens.
Children are free and can enjoy participating in an I-Spy trail.
The two day event will end with a celebration of Songs of Praise at St Peter's Church at 6pm on Sunday May 17th.
Catering We plan to serve soup, ploughmans and tea and cakes over the two days. We would greatly appreciate donations of pickles, chutneys and jam as soon as possible, and cakes/tea breads etc. nearer the time. Many thanks. Contact Barbara 30823 Judith 31268
 
Plant stall We have had some plants promised, but to ensure a really top quality plant stall we need as many plants as possible. We will be collecting/taking in over the weekend of 9th/10th May. Please label your plants. We will also need any spare plastic carrier bags you may have. Thank you.

"DANCERSIZE" (for the over-55s.)

Interested in getting fit and flexible through the winter months? New weekly 'Dancersize' sessions started on 5th January in the Finsthwaite and Lakeside Village Hall. The focus is on flexibility and toning exercises with some gentle aerobics, working at your own level. The sessions start at 2pm and cost £2.

Finthsthwaite and Lakeside Village Hall

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING will be held on Wednesday May 6th at 7.30pm. Names of those wishing to be elected onto the committee together with the name of a proposer and seconder should be handed in to Julie Coates (30045) before the meeting.
This meeting is about your village amenity and it would be really nice to have lots of you there to voice your opinion on how it is run.
